It is now clear that the restrictions to keep us all safe are going to continue for some time, however with the easing in lockdown your committee do feel we can start to organise some events which are ‘Covid secure’.
The first two are:-
- A cruise in company to Fiskerton Fen Nature Reserve 11 July 2020
We will cruise from Burton Waters, through Lincoln and Stamp End lock (we will have a team to work you through the lock so you can stay on your boat and socially distanced), then down river to Fiskerton, where you can explore the nature reserve in socially distanced household groups and enjoy a lunch on your boat before returning to Burton Waters.
- On water Treasure Hunt 15 August 2020
Our annual Treasure Hunt to complete for the Taggart Trophy. As with previous years this is an opportunity to spend an afternoon on the water, testing your observational skills, and the skippers manoeuvring skill. Unlike previous years we won’t be able to meet up at the end of the event, but will arrange a virtual announcement of the winning team, once answer sheets have been marked.
Future planning
In July we plan to announce further events as lockdown restrictions are relaxed further, which we hope will include a social event that all social and boat owning members can attend and an August Bank Holiday cruise suitable for all boats with the option to stay overnight on our boats which we hope will be permitted by then.
