Notice Alert

River Trent
Location: From Gainsborough to Cottam Power Station

Thursday 21 May 2020 until Thursday 21 May 2020 23:59

Type: Advice
Reason: 3rd Party Works

Original message:

On the 21st May, there will be large load being moved to Cottam Power Station from Gainsborough.

Boaters are asked to proceed with care and to allow for delays during this operation.

Please remember our advice -  You can move your boat a short distance, as long as you do not have to stay away overnight and return to your home mooring if you have one.  A short trip is one you can undertake in a day without staying on your boat and returning to your home afterwards.

You can move your boat to a boatyard if it is reasonably close by and you have pre-booked for the work to be undertaken – please remember to check that the boatyard is open before you travel. Please remember you cannot stay away overnight on your boat.  Some of our bridges and locks are operated by staff who have been off work on furlough, until they have returned to work some of these staffed structures will be closed.

Please continue minimise your use of the towpath and follow the social distancing guidelines.

Please follow the government advice – stay alert, control the virus, save lives.
