Cathedral & Castle Tour with lunch at The Tower Hotel – 16th June 23

Our day starts with a tour of the Cathedral, followed by an optional lunch or drink at The Tower Hotel and finishes with a guided tour of the Castle.
Timings are:
10.00 meet outside the main (front) entrance to the Cathedral
10.30 Guided tour of Cathedral floor (approx 1 hour)
11.45 Walk round the Bailgate area to The Tower Hotel
12.15 Lunch at The Tower Hotel
13.30 Walk to the Castle from the Tower hotel
14.00 Guided tour of Castle
15.00 Free time in the Castle grounds (or go to the pub for a beer!!!)
Cathedral Tour: An introductory floor tour is included in your admission to the Cathedral. Let our expert volunteer guides take you on a journey, revealing hundreds of years of history.
Castle Tour: the tour explores the area of the bailey within the castle walls, and is ideal both for those who seek an introduction to this historic site, as well as for anyone who requires a deeper understanding of the colourful history of the castle.
As you explore the grounds your guide will tell of the people who once populated the castle and of the key battles that were fought about its walls in medieval times.
Our guides have all made a detailed study of the history of the castle, and should you have any further questions they will be only too pleased to discuss these with you either before or after your tour.
The cost of the event is £27 (£26 concessions). This includes entry to both the Cathedral & Castle as well as both guided tours.
Lunch in the Tower is optional and can be ordered from the all day menu (sample menu attached)
