Thanks to everyone who turned up to our monthly First Friday Boat Club meeting last night at David Lloyds
An entertaining evening with a great talk from Pete Barnard MBE on the RNLI history, boats and procedures with free gifts and expert advice on offer for those who made the evening.
There was also a free life jacket clinic where Pete and his colleagues checked lifejackets and advised on actions to be taken to ensure they are fully operational should they be required in an emergency. Thanks to Mike Waldron, Commodore for volunteering to be the lifejacket test model…
£100 was donated to the RNLI on the evening
Last nights Boat Club meeting with guest speaker Pete Barnard introduced and recommended us to the RYAsafetrx App, available on Google Play and the Apple App store for FREE – please click on the link below to download the app to your mobile phone.
This smart app allows you to register your vessel, plan and track your trip on your smartphone, keep your relatives informed as to where you are and has a ‘one button’ click option to activate an emergency call (on Iphone only)
You don’t have to be an RYA member to use the app and it is free to download, please copy the link into your browser to see the details below:

We also were introduced to battery operated flares which may replace standard flares, last 8 hours and just need new batteries to extend their life, example on the following link:

Next Club meeting will be at David Lloyds on 7th April, 7.30pm
