Due to a combination of slow progress due to Covid-19 restrictions, and complexities with the scaffolding, these works will now not be completed until the 7th August.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Original message:
Via East Midlands working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council will be carrying out repair and repainting works to the parapets of Town Bridge in Newark. To undertake these works, scaffolding will be erected across the navigation and booms will be placed directing all traffic to use the central arch.
Please be cautious when approaching the works and be aware that unpowered craft may be using the central arch in addition to larger, powered craft.
Please be alert for any instructions/advice from contractors on-site, particularly during the scaffolding erection/dismantling works.
Please follow the government advice – stay alert, control the virus, save lives.
