Keadby Lock Water Levels

I thought your club members might be interested in the update below from Sean McGinley on the Keadby lock situation.
(The right water levels he mentions means high tide in the Trent which is unsuitable for use by most narrow boats.)

“The failure of the previously decommissioned ground paddle chamber creates a constant flow of water into the lock leading to turbulence when the Trent is lower than the canal and so we have had to restrict use to coincide with the right water levels and for those craft with suitable power. I acknowledge this means that not all craft can use the lock but I am sure you understand that safety is our primary concern.

The repairs will take place just as soon as they can be delivered with the resources/funds that we have – our direct services team are finishing off their winter works programme and I am pushing them then to move onto this job as soon as possible, as I appreciate the annoyance it creates. The latest timeframe I have had is May but I am pushing for a quicker resolution.”
