Boat Club BBQ – Ellisons Quays, Burton Waters

This is one of our most popular events for the year – open to Boat Club Members only – our day starts at 5pm and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for some great weather!
This year it’s being held in our original location, at the bottom of the quayside at Ellisons Quays on Saturday 9th August, 5pm start.
It’s a lovely waterside venue, we have our own BBQ, some light music and the opportunity for you to socialise, cook, eat and drink with your fellow members!
So the details – as normal you need to bring a few things:
1. Your own food, drink and snacks
2. Tongs, Plates, Glasses and Cutlery for your own use
3. A chair for you to sit in
4. Bin bag to take away your own waste
The BBQ is open for you to use to cook your own food when you want it.

As normal we are looking for volunteers from boat club members to help us set up the BBQ area for the day on the morning of the event, and also on the following morning to do a final clear up if necessary, sort out the BBQ cleaning and square everything up again!

Just a note to clarify the location of the BBQ tomorrow if you are planning to join us
The BBQ is being held on the water at Ellisons Quays at Burton Waters
I have attached two pics to show you the location – at the end of Ellisons Quays on the water are two square jetty’s – we are holding the BBQ on the jetty on the left side as you look down the basin towards the main waters leading to the rest of Burton Waters
To get to Ellisons Quay and the location of the BBQ please come to the roundabout facing towards Quayside Coffee/Quayside Gifts on Burton Waters – take the ‘residents only’ road Park Lane, first left off this roundabout, pass by the first gates on the right (Marine Walk/Ellisons Quay entrance ) and go to the second set of gates on your right (just before the barriers over the road on Park Lane) onto Ellisons Quay.
There is a fob access panel just before the gates on your right, and also a button to call security if you don’t have fob access to this area – I will be calling security on the morning of the BBQ to let them know people may be asking for access to this area.
When you get through the security gates onto the housing side of Ellisons Quay, take any of the passageways on your right to take you down to the waterside, keep on the left side of the water and walk as far as the path will take you – the BBQ is being held on the jetty right at the end of the water.
If you are coming in a car you will need to park up in any of the car parks and then walk through following the above directions.
