COMMODORES CORNER

Is anybody interested in taking part in a boat jumble? A good opportunity to have a tidy up and
move on some of the things you no longer need but may be valuable to another boater. If you are
interested confirm to mike.bwbc@gmail.com.
From the Commodore.
June, July and August are usually quiet months for us with many club members away on holiday,
but despite this, an intrepid team of 4 boats made their way (I am told) up to Leeds via Trent
Falls and Goole Dock. Well done guys and gals! I suspect that it was not that easy and I hope
that they will be able to give us a full report, warts and all.
Unfortunately, our experiment with opening our Club Nights every Friday at Quayside Coffee has not
been a total success, so with immediate effect we are going back to our previous Club Nights which
will happen on the First Friday of every month. We are looking to make these evenings well worth
attending by having themed nights such as, a Cocktail Evening, Wine Tasting, Special Foody
Nights, Race Nights and especially for the ladies, Health & Beauty (not that they need it of
course). We hope that many more members will be able to and want to attend.
Some of you will know that Ann and I have sold our boat ‘Bojangles’. Well, it is an age thing (that’s
me not the boat). ‘Bojangles’ is off to Ramsgate and I suspect that she will shortly be in France, so
bon voyage. However, we are not leaving the water and hope to be afloat in something smaller
very soon.
Where will you be cruising to this year? Let us know your plans and what is your favourite go-to
place. The top replies will find their way into Boaters Banter, an area where your advice, reports etc
will be passed on to our members. Send your contributions to, mike.BWBC@gmail.com. Cut-off date
for next issue is 15 August.

BOATERS BANTER
