Update on 26/10/2020:

 

The works for Boston Barrier Project are still on-going.

Mariners are advised that routine testing of the Boston Barrier will is scheduled to be carried out.

This will mean that the Barrier will be in the raised CLOSED position between the stated times on the following dates.

30th October 2210-0410 (31st)

31st October 1036-1636

This is approximately 3hrs either side of Low Water.

The riverside Barrier information boards will indicate to Mariners that the barrier has been closed.

 

Update on 21/10/2020:

 

The works for the Boston Barrier project are still on-going.

This project is being carried out by contractors on behalf of the Environment Agency.

Boaters are advised that routine testing of the Boston Barrier is scheduled to be carried out.

This will mean that the Barrier will be in the raised CLOSED position between the stated times on the following dates.

23rd October. 1540-2140

24th October. 1640-2240

25th October. 1715-2315

This is approximately 3hrs either side of Low Water on the PM tide.

This project is being carried out by contractors on behalf of the Environment Agency.

These works will be ongoing and will mean a steady increase in activities in this area, and we are just advising out boaters to be aware of this.

Please follow instructions from any signage and guide boats when approaching the site. Monitor VHF channel 12 at all times.

The works for the Boston Barrier project have finally started.

This project is being carried out by contractors on behalf of the Environment Agency.

These works will mean a steady increase in activities in this area over the next couple of months, and we are just advising out boaters to be aware of this.

As of today, there will be a tug boat, which will be carrying a flat-topped barge (30m long and 11m beam), into the dry dock basin.

Here it will be loaded with construction material for the barrier works.

Please proceed with caution and follow any advice given on site.
