Volunteer Week – 1 – 7 June

Burton Waters Boat Club is run entirely by volunteers and, as this week is National Volunteers week, I would like to say thank you to everyone who over the last year has given of their time.

Members will have seen those who organised and helped deliver events, led cruises and provided support to our members. I would also like to thank our invaluable backroom volunteers who manage our Website, Facebook and other communications, campaign on issues that are important to our members, represent the club at meetings, maintain our records, write minutes, ensure our finances are in order and do the 100 other things to ensure the club continues to thrive.

A well-deserved hearty round of applause, thank you!

WHAT IS VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK?

Volunteers' Week takes place 1 - 7 June every year. It's a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.

During the coronavirus pandemic, many are focusing on supporting volunteers to take on coronavirus-related volunteering roles to help communities cope with the many consequences of coronavirus.

Although it is more important than ever for us to recognise support volunteers across the UK, we’ve decided it would be inappropriate to go ahead with many of the things we would usually do around this time.
